I am Karla Alexa Maldonado Pérez, a Puerto Rican designer from Humacao, PR. I am based in Boston, MA, finishing my senior year at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I am also obtaining a certification in Interactive Design at RISD to improve my coding skills. I have interned at Broadview Marketing, working on a website redesign and magazine spreads. Over the summer, I interned at Sallie Mae as a Graphic Design and Illustration intern, creating designs for different social media platforms.

As a Designer, I aspire to grow and expand my skills by working in different fields and learning from many amazing artists. Every experience has many great takeaways and things to learn from. For instance, at Light Insight Design Studio, although it’s about picking light fixtures and figuring out where they go, I’ve learned so much about the creative process and working through challenges.
